KitAid Monthly Update – November 2025
Hello all,
Apologies for the missing monthly update for October which was due to the over utilised KitAid laptop finally deciding to say no! A replacement has been purchased and hopefully normal service will now resume.
Both October and November were incredibly busy months and here are some of the highlights.
Total items of kit donated in October and November – 21,323
Total items of kit donated in 2025 – 104,121
Total items of kit donated since 1998 – 1,230,067
It is incredible that we have passed 100,000 items with one month remaining of this year and the first time this has happened.
We are on track to reach the next big milestone of 1.25 Million by March or April next year.
This really shows how much kit is being collected, sorted and donated and how much KitAid has grown. Thank you to everyone for your fantastic support.
Smiley Film Charity Awards
We have entered one of Ben’s excellent Film Friday clips into the Smiley Film Charity Awards and we now need YOUR VOTE to help us get through to the short list. It would be great to be recognised and as you know, my soap box topic is the lack of recognition KitAid receives!
Our film appears in the Under £100k section and the title is Harry Mnisi Sports Day. Please use the following link to cast your vote https://smileycharityfilmawards.com/2026/films/category/0-100000
41st Ricky Road Run
We have a close association with this event having been involved in the very first run way back in 1984.
Mark S and myself attended the very well organised run at the end of October and we have recently heard the incredible news that we are soon to receive £10,500 from the proceeds of the run. This is a fantastic amount and it will meet all of the container hire, courier collection and admin costs for the whole of 2026. This means that any additional income we receive can be allocated to 2027 and to special projects we choose to sponsor.
Last Saturday we presented a thank you shield to the Ricky Road Run Graduates who did a brilliant job in organising the run and raising so much for four different charities.
2026 Thank You Certificates/2025 EChristmas Card
A very big thank you to Carole, our designer, who despite retiring five years ago, still does our work without charging us.
The 2026 Thank You certificates are printed and I will post our hard copies to all of the Regional Coordinators who are not local. If you also want a soft copy please let me know.
A copy of the new 2025 EChristmas card is attached for you to send to your contacts. Download here.
Leverstock Green FC Sponsored match
We recently sponsored Ambassador Club Leverstock Green FC’s Southern League match against Aylesbury Utd FC, which ended in an entertaining 3-3 draw. It was great to see a group of KitAid supporters at the game and we all received a warm welcome from the Club as well as a great donation of team kits.
Make a note in your diary for 22 February next year when we have sponsored another game against high flying Hitchin Town.
The Positive End story
We received a lovely letter from the Head teacher of a school in Malawi which beautifully captured the benefits of receiving the kits and your work.
We have received your generous gifts for football and netball which include beautiful attire and three balls. These gifts are highly significant because it encourages physical activity.education and teamwork.
Moreover, this sports kit will also have a positive impact by reducing the dropout rate because students will be more engaged and interested in attending school, decreasing absenteeism and improving academic performance. The research shows that physical activity enhances concentration and mental well-being, ultimately boosting grades.
It really is more than just a shirt.
Thanks everyone, have a great December and I will send through the year end totals before the end of the month,
Happy Christmas
Derrick
